Snack Time

  • Snack Time

    Why

The opportunity to have a healthy snack to re-energize is a privilege to help form healthy habits.  A small bite of protein or a complex carbohydrate to eat is the best choice for this time.  Snacks eaten without a spoon are also better suited for the classroom.

    When & What

Snack time is late morning after specials (apprx. 10:15).  This is a quiet time to take a breather from responding and interacting all morning in various groups.  Students have the chance to have a drink of water with their snack.  Care while eating and drinking is expected.  Keeping food on one’s own desk is required.  No sharing of snacks is possible because of potential food allergies; the same guidelines are in the Millburn handbook.    Pink highlighted items mean food sources that could be problems.

*There are some nut allergies this year.
