    Participation Points:
     
    Every week in music class, students in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade will recieve up to 10 participation points towards their grade.  At Millburn Elementary School we're proud that we have a variety of very talented students with a wide array of interests.  For this reason, participation is most crucial in music class.  Even students who struggle with musical subjects, like rhythm and pitch, can still earn grades they are proud of by earn participation points.  Students who are focused on teacher instruction, participate in class activities, and show respect to fellow students will earn points based on the following rubrick:
     
     
    10 to 9 Points

    Student remains focused on listening to teacher instruction, participating in class activities, and showing respect to fellow classmates with little to no teacher redirection.

    8 to 7 Points

    Student remains focused on listening to teacher instruction, participating in class activities, and showing respect to fellow students but requires teacher redirection.

    6 to 5 Points

    Student frequently loses focus on listening to teacher instruction, participating in class activities, and showing respect to fellow students despite teacher redirection.

        Less than 5 Points

    Student displays open disrespect to teacher or fellow students or outright refuses to focus on instruction or participation.
