SCHOOL BOARD ELECTIONS
Four seats on the seven-member Board of Education for the Millburn School District 24 will be filled at the April 2, 2019 election. There are four seats each for a four-year term, or until April 2023.
To be eligible to serve, a school board member must be, on the date of election, a citizen of the United States, at least 18 years old, a resident of the State of Illinois and the school district for at least one year immediately preceding the election, a registered voter, be neither a school trustee nor a school treasurer, and not be a child sex offender as defined in State law.
Nominating petition forms for the April 2, 2019 School Board election for Millburn District are available. Candidates may download the forms from this website: lakecountyclerk.info > Elections > Candidate Services or they nay be picked up at the Lake County Clerk’s Office at 18 N. County Street, Waukegan.
A School Board candidate’s petition must be filed at the office of the Lake County Clerk, 18 N. County Street, Waukegan, IL between 8:30 A.M., Monday, December 10, 2018 and no later than 5:00 P.M., Monday, December 17, 2018. Candidate names will appear on the election ballot in the order in which their nominating papers are received in the County Clerk’s office.
Nominating papers may be filed by the candidate in person, by mail or by an agent representing the candidate. They consist of the following:
- Nominating petitions signed by at least 50 registered voters residing within the district. Petitions must be securely bound together with pages numbered consecutively, and each page must carry the notarized signature of the petition circulator.
- Statement of Candidacy Form
- Statement of Economic Interest - a receipt from the County Clerk showing that the candidate has filed the Statement of Economic Interest for 2018.
