We are entering our 7th year of implementing PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports). The initiative of our school is to "catch" students demonstrating appropriate behavior in the classroom, hallway, bathroom, and bus. If students do not do his/her part, the student may have that continued minor behavior documented and will have a discussion in order to think about his/her choices. If the child receives 3 minors for the same undesired behavior, or the behavior represents extreme disrespect, the behavior will be documented on a "major" form and the student will have a consequence and parents will be contacted.
It is the goal of the district to put most of the emphasis upon positive behavior and rewarding when observed.
